U.S. President Donald Trump made statements regarding the Middle East agenda after meeting with United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the G7 Summit held in Evian-les-Bains, France.
Trump said the Strait of Hormuz will be fully open by June 19. Noting that ship traffic in the strait has started to pick up again, Trump stated that oil flow has resumed and prices are rapidly falling.
Trump also mentioned that the stock market has seen an increase. He described the developments as positive and emphasized that the most important issue is that Iran should not have nuclear weapons.
Regarding the agreement reached with Iran, Trump said Tehran wants to finalize matters in negotiations. He noted that the process could proceed quickly or take a long time.
The statements came at a time when tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and the Iran dossier are closely monitored for their impact on global energy markets and diplomacy.
