Ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections, President Donald Trump campaigned for Ohio Republicans at Butler High School in Vandalia, near Dayton, on Saturday, Oct. 3, using the issue of men competing in women’s sports to go after Democrats.
The rally was held for Sen. Jon Husted, who faces former Sen. Sherrod Brown, and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who is running against Democrat Amy Acton.
‘We won everything’

“They’re continuously fighting,” Trump said of Democrats. “We won in the Supreme Court. We won. We won everything. But they continue to fight for men to play women’s sports. So, I don’t get it.”
He added that he was happy to see them keep at it, arguing that “as long as they do, they can’t win elections,” before calling Democrats “a bunch of dumb son of a [expletive].”

A ‘permanent law’ pledge
Trump also accused Democrats of having “voted in favor of men playing in women’s sports,” recalling that he had recently seen “a well-known congressman, Democrat,” arguing with a moderate announcer and “fighting like hell for the privilege of having men playing in women’s sports.”
Republicans would write a ban on men in women’s sports into permanent law, he told the crowd. During the speech, Trump also repeated his “Dumbocrat” nickname for his opponents.
