Among the new appointees, Çağrı Sakar becomes consul general in Houston, a post previously held by Ahmet Akıntı. Yeşim Kebapçıoğlu has been appointed to the Miami consulate general, where Resul Şahinol's term has ended.
Erdal Onat is appointed consul general in Los Angeles. The outgoing consul general there, Menekşe Onuk, will become first counselor at Türkiye's Permanent Mission to the United Nations.
With this reshuffle, Türkiye renews its diplomatic presence in three key US cities and at the same time brings a senior diplomat to its UN Permanent Mission in New York.
