While average scores declined across OECD countries and all participating countries, Türkiye's increase placed it among the countries showing sustained improvement in this field.
Türkiye had previously been closing the gap with the OECD average and surpassed that average in science.

The share of students reaching both the minimum and high proficiency levels in science, reading and mathematics reached its highest level across the periods in which Türkiye participated in PISA.
Education environment rated above OECD average
In the surveys conducted as part of PISA, Türkiye's physical and social education environment was rated more positively than the OECD average. Indicators of improvement in the competence and quality of education personnel were also measured above the OECD average.
