Republican Representative Joe Wilson, who has drawn attention with his statements on Turkey in the US Congress, made a significant assessment regarding the developments in Syria. Wilson declared that thanks to Turkey's operations in the region, the mass killings that the Bashar al-Assad regime had been carrying out for many years have been stopped.
The US politician, noting that Assad fled to Moscow, underlined that Washington should not resort to sanctions in its relations with friendly countries. "We do not impose sanctions on our friends, we work together," Wilson said, emphasizing the importance of the strategic cooperation between Turkey and the US with these words.
