The U.S. Department of State has approved the sale of Hawk missile system maintenance and related equipment to the Government of Ukraine. The total cost of the sale was announced as approximately 108.1 million dollars. In a statement by the Department, it was noted that this sale will improve Ukraine's defense capacity against current and future threats. It was also emphasized that Ukraine will not have difficulty integrating this equipment into its own armed forces. Earlier, in early May, the U.S. had approved the sale of Joint Direct Attack Munition Extended Range (JDAM-ER) kits and related equipment to Ukraine valued at 373.6 million dollars.
