U.S. President Trump pointed to the period after the Nov. 3 congressional midterm elections as the time when the war with Iran could end.
Trump said he believed Iran could not hold out much longer and that the war could end after the elections. However, the U.S. president also said the issue could be resolved before the elections.
In a statement made the previous day, Trump said he believed the war would end immediately after the elections.
The U.S. president also denied reports that American aircraft in the area were damaged in Iran's latest retaliatory attacks targeting a U.S. base in Jordan. Trump said none of the aircraft had been damaged.
