Orange alert in 64 departments
France has issued an orange alert for 64 departments because of extreme heat. Temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius during the day.
Extreme heat is making it more difficult to respond to wildfires across the country. More than 117,000 hectares have burned in France this year as a result of wildfires.
