Commander Reid Wiseman and pilot Victor Glover, who traveled to the Moon on April 1 as part of the Artemis II mission, will leave active astronaut duty, NASA announced.
After their active assignments end, Wiseman and Glover will continue supporting NASA’s lunar exploration programs as honorary astronauts.

Artemis II’s lunar mission
The crew of Artemis II, the first crewed spacecraft NASA had sent to the Moon in more than 50 years, traveled approximately 1,118,000 kilometers during its 10-day flight around Earth and the Moon.
The four-astronaut crew tested the spacecraft’s systems throughout the flight and recorded previously unseen parts of the Moon.
The crew also surveyed areas that could be used for landings on future missions.
