Official reception planned near Washington
Xi is expected to be greeted by Trump after arriving at Joint Base Andrews near Washington on Wednesday.
Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, are scheduled to hold an official welcoming ceremony for Xi and Peng Liyuan at the White House on Thursday. The two leaders are expected to begin talks after the state ceremony.
Summit agenda to include economic and strategic issues
Xi's visit will be his first state visit to the United States in more than a decade. The two leaders are expected to discuss economic and strategic issues alongside bilateral relations at the summit.
