Antonelli Tops Timesheets in Monaco Grand Prix Third Practice

Kimi Antonelli posted the fastest lap in the third free practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix. The 19-year-old Italian Mercedes driver secured the top spot with a time of 1 minute 12.720 seconds, delivering an impressive performance ahead of the qualifying rounds.
Antonelli’s lap was more than 0.3 seconds quicker than Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari. The Monegasque driver noted that the car was not at the desired level, especially in braking, and felt the vehicle was difficult to predict throughout the lap.
Lewis Hamilton also showed a close performance from the Ferrari garage. The British driver took third place, just 0.004 seconds behind Leclerc. Hamilton started the session with a seat issue and later reported balance problems with the car.
George Russell, representing Mercedes, was behind his teammate. Russell placed fourth with a lap time of 1 minute 13.483 seconds, more than 0.7 seconds off Antonelli’s pace.
Another notable name in the session was Max Verstappen. The Dutch driver finished fifth, about a second behind the leader. On the McLaren side, the results were less bright than expected; Oscar Piastri was sixth, and Lando Norris came in ninth.
The Audi drivers, competing under the Sauber name, also had a strong day in Monaco. Gabriel Bortoleto finished seventh, and Nico Hülkenberg took tenth, marking some of the best performances the team has shown on track since the weekend began.
The day was challenging for Haas. Oliver Bearman crashed into the wall 15 minutes before the session ended, causing a red flag. The incident limited track activity in the final part and required the team to quickly prepare the car again.
All eyes now turn to the qualifying sessions in Monaco. On the narrow street circuit, securing pole position is seen as the most critical factor that will shape the weekend’s outcome.
