As the US midterm elections in November approach, Bank of America strategists warned that stock markets could experience a major reversal after the vote. The bank said the election results could mark a significant turning point for Wall Street.
According to the strategists, the possibility of Democrats securing majorities in both chambers of Congress poses a new risk for markets. Because of the uncertainty this scenario could create, investors are being advised to take a more cautious approach to risky assets in the short term.
Gold was one of the options Bank of America highlighted among defensive investments. The strategists also said the economic gap between wealthy Americans and low- and middle-income groups is widening steadily.

While asset owners have benefited from gains in stocks and real estate, millions of Americans continue to feel the pressure of high prices. The bank said investors’ gains in the markets had reached approximately $9 trillion over the past two years.
Attention has turned to the results of the November elections. The question is whether the elections will open the door to a new era on Wall Street.
