The Boston Meshk Ensemble will present "An Evening of Turkish Classical Music" on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. at Powers Music School, 160 Lexington Street, in Belmont, Massachusetts.
The concert will feature works from the classical Turkish music repertoire performed by the Boston-area ensemble, which brings together singers and instrumentalists.

A tradition passed from master to student
The ensemble takes its name from "meşk," the centuries-old method in which classical Turkish music is taught orally, passed down from master to student through listening and repetition.
The Turks in Boston community, which promoted the event, said the concert offers Turkish music lovers in Massachusetts, as well as American neighbors discovering the genre, a chance to experience a part of Turkish cultural heritage. Details are available via the QR code on the event poster.
