The nonpartisan Cook Political Report shifted a dozen more House races toward Democrats on Friday, four days before the Nov. 3 midterm elections, The Hill reported.
Cook now rates more than 218 seats, the number needed for a majority, as Lean Democrat or better and projects a Democratic majority of 227 to 240 seats. Cook House editor Erin Covey has said Democrats are favored in 222 seats.
Among the changes, Ohio's 9th District, held by Democrat Marcy Kaptur, moved further toward Democrats. Florida's 7th and 9th districts and Indiana's 5th District shifted from Likely Republican to Lean Republican, putting more Republican-held seats in play.

The update follows a 19-seat shift toward Democrats on Oct. 23 and an 18-seat shift earlier in the month, as forecasters have steadily moved races away from Republicans in the final weeks of the campaign.
Democrats need a net gain of only a handful of seats to win control of the House, which Republicans have held since 2023.
