President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Turkish citizens at a Turkish-owned bakery in New York as he continued his engagements surrounding the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Erdoğan visited the bakery near the Turkish House after attending the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Event at United Nations Headquarters on September 23.
During the visit, Erdoğan sat with citizens and members of the Turkish community, chatted with those gathered inside the bakery and drank Turkish tea.
Photographs from the gathering showed Erdoğan seated around a table with citizens as other visitors gathered around to follow the meeting. He also posed for photographs with people at the venue.
The informal stop came amid Erdoğan’s intensive diplomatic schedule in New York, which included bilateral meetings with world leaders, international gatherings and meetings with representatives of the business and policy communities.

Erdoğan Returns to Turkish House
After spending time with citizens at the bakery, Erdoğan returned to the Turkish House to continue his scheduled engagements in New York.

The bakery visit was one of several occasions during Erdoğan’s UN General Assembly trip in which he interacted with members of the Turkish community in the United States.
His New York program centered on the UN General Assembly and a series of diplomatic meetings addressing bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.
