According to information provided by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, at least one person died and more than 30 were injured as a result of a fire and explosion at a shipyard in Staten Island. Among the injured are firefighters. The incident began with a report that workers at the back of the shipyard were trapped in an enclosed area. While the responding teams were trying to control the fire, many people were injured due to the impact of the explosion. First aid was administered to the injured at the scene, and emergency service teams transported the injured to hospitals. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and emergency response teams continue their work on site.
