FBI investigates Iran over cyberattack on Minnesota water systems
Unnamed US officials who spoke to the Washington Post said that the FBI is assessing that Iran may be behind the cyberattacks on water facilities in Minnesota. The investigation has not yet reached a definitive conclusion.
The investigation into the source of cyberattacks targeting local water systems in the US state of Minnesota is ongoing. Officials who spoke to the Washington Post on condition of anonymity said that the FBI-coordinated investigation is assessing that Iran is behind the attacks that took place in late July.
It was announced that cyberattacks were carried out on water facilities in Minnesota on July 28. Officials stated that no definitive conclusion has been reached yet and the investigation is continuing.
