FBI agents on Tuesday morning searched the Beverly Hills mansion of billionaire Stephen Cloobeck, a longtime supporter of former Rep. Eric Swalwell's campaigns, as part of an investigation involving the California Democrat. At least two dozen agents took part in the search, which began around 6 a.m. local time.
Several people were led out in handcuffs and later released. Cloobeck was not at the home. Authorities did not say what they found after searching the property for several hours.

Swalwell resigned from Congress in April under threat of expulsion after at least five women, including a former staffer, accused him of sexual misconduct, and he withdrew from California's race for governor. In August, the FBI searched his Washington home and seized his electronic devices at San Francisco International Airport. When he resigned, Swalwell said he would "fight the serious false allegations" made against him.
