In a Florida murder case, suspect Isabelle Johnson is on the run from police, and the victim's body was found in a shallow grave. The Walton County Sheriff's Office announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for 38-year-old Johnson on a murder charge and that the suspect is being actively sought.
The body of the victim, 43-year-old Jason Christopher Coulthart, was discovered on a property in Freeport, in the northwest of the state. Coulthart was last seen on May 24, and following a missing person report, authorities located the body on June 25.
The sheriff's office did not disclose Johnson's relationship to Coulthart, but noted that the suspect may be using multiple aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, and Jessica Dowdy. Three other individuals were taken into custody as part of the investigation.
Michael Ray White, 74, and Kathleen Morris, 59, both of Santa Rosa Beach, were arrested on charges of aiding and abetting and obstruction of the investigation. White is believed to have knowingly helped Johnson evade police between June 25 and 30. Morris admitted to providing Johnson with transportation and supplies, and to giving authorities false information that Johnson was at her home.
Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson warned, "Anyone who has helped or is still helping Isabelle Johnson evade arrest will be dealt with. If you give her a place to stay, help her hide, or lie for her, you will face the consequences. This is a murder investigation. We will not allow anyone to obstruct this investigation."
Niceville Police Chief Mark Hayse said, "This is not the news we wanted to deliver to the Niceville community. We stand with Jason's family and will continue to work closely with our partners until the case is resolved."
Authorities released images of Johnson captured on security camera at a business days after Coulthart's body was found. The sheriff's office added that the suspect may have changed her appearance since then.
