Saudi-based El-Arabiya television reported, citing its sources, that negotiations between Iran and the US will continue in Pakistan on July 11.
According to the report, the parties will discuss issues such as the lifting of sanctions on Iran, the release of frozen assets, and the nuclear issue during the talks in Pakistan.
El-Arabiya noted that the composition of the Iranian delegation will be finalized after the mourning ceremonies for former leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was allegedly killed in US and Israeli attacks on February 28, which are set to end on July 9.
El-Arabiya's report noted that under an agreement reached between Iran and the US on June 14, the parties were expected to conduct negotiations within 60 days on issues such as the lifting of sanctions, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, and the nuclear issue.
El-Arabiya reported that the talks held in Switzerland on June 21 were not continued due to Israel's ongoing attacks on Lebanon, the US refusal to release Iran's frozen assets, and disagreements over the management of the Strait of Hormuz.
El-Arabiya reported that despite the agreement between the parties, after intense military clashes in the Strait of Hormuz region, delegations from both countries held separate meetings with Qatari officials in Doha on July 1.
