Iranian diplomat Nasser Asedi criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the United Nations General Assembly, saying that Netanyahu’s place was in a courtroom, not at the UN podium.
Speaking at the 81st session of the General Assembly, Asedi criticized the decision to allow Netanyahu to speak. Asedi said the United Nations was established to preserve peace and establish justice, adding that it was not a platform for war criminals to speak.

Asedi said the International Criminal Court had issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu, reiterating that the Israeli prime minister should speak in a courtroom rather than at the UN podium.
Asedi said some international delegations left the hall while Netanyahu was speaking at the General Assembly. The delegations protested the continuation of attacks in Gaza despite the ceasefire, the seizure of land in the occupied West Bank, and attacks against Syria and Lebanon.
Netanyahu also faced protests from crowds gathered outside the United Nations building.
