Creedence Clearwater Revival legend John Fogerty said he wants to see Timothée Chalamet in the biographical film that will tell his life story.
Fogerty made the statement as part of the Songwriters Hall of Fame's 55th anniversary. The artist explained that the film is in the preparation stage and the script is currently being written.
Fogerty expressed that he sees the project as a great honor and is pleased that the film will eventually meet the audience.
When asked who he would like to portray him, Fogerty said he first jokingly mentioned Brad Pitt, then stated his preference is Timothée Chalamet.
Fogerty brought up Chalamet in connection with the film A Complete Unknown, where he portrayed Bob Dylan. The actor personally performed Dylan's key songs in the film and had previously conveyed that he prepared for the role for a long time.
The artist largely kept the details of the biopic under wraps. However, he said he would be happy with the result whoever they choose.
Fogerty also recounted that years ago he thought a film would be made about him one day, but he told those around him at the time that he would not be the right age to play himself. Fogerty voiced his openness to the process, saying, "I'll be happy whoever makes this possible."
