Katy Perry took the stage at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium about ten minutes before the opening match of the 2026 World Cup. She was accompanied by 10-year-old Norwegian singer Tius Luka.
The duo performed "Wonder," a track from Perry’s seventh studio album, 143. During the performance, Luka sang the opening and closing parts of the song.
The stage was surrounded by flags from various countries, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The audience at the stadium greeted the performance with applause.
At the end of the duet, Perry embraced Luka before leaving the stage. Their heartfelt moment was one of the highlights of the opening ceremony.
Before the performance, Perry shared a video explaining that Luka had recorded his part of the song in 2021 when he was just five years old. She said she heard the vocals in 2023 and wrote her own lyrics for "Wonder."
Perry also noted that Tius is now 10 years old and traveled from Norway to Los Angeles to perform the song with her.
