Mount Etna’s ash cloud rises 4 kilometers, grounding flights
Domestic and international flights at Catania Airport were suspended after an ash cloud over Mount Etna on Italy’s island of Sicily rose to approximately 4 kilometers. Some flights were diverted to Palermo, while a red-code warning was issued for aircraft operating in the area.
