The Russian Space Forces launched a Soyuz-2.1b medium-class rocket on Friday from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in Russia’s northwestern Arkhangelsk region. The rocket was carrying a spacecraft.
Roscosmos announced that the launch process was completed as planned after the spacecraft was placed into its designated orbit.
Following the launch, the rocket was tracked by ground-based automated control systems at the Titov Main Test and Space Systems Control Center. After the spacecraft was placed into orbit, control was handed over to ground facilities operated by the Russian Space Forces.
A stable telemetry link was established with the spacecraft. Its systems were also reported to be operating normally.
