Former US President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated image on his Truth Social account depicting himself as Jesus. In the image, Trump was portrayed as if healing a patient. Trump claimed the image showed him as a Red Cross doctor. However, this explanation was sarcastically criticized by Late Show host Stephen Colbert. Colbert said he found Trump's explanation unbelievable, stating, "If I were in a doctor's office and that guy walked in, I would think I was dead." It was also noted that the patient in the image resembled television host Jon Stewart. Stewart reacted to the image with surprise. When Trump's post caused backlash among his supporters, the image was removed from the Truth Social account. Trump also made harsh criticisms towards Pope Leo XIV. Colbert described Trump's messages to the Pope as "long and uncontrolled." Pope Leo XIV, in response to Trump's criticisms, stated he would not hesitate to loudly defend the message of the Bible.
