The United States and Uzbekistan announced 54 agreements and investment initiatives worth about $12 billion during Secretary of State Marco Rubio's visit to Samarkand, U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor said. The package was presented at a meeting of the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council on Oct. 19, attended by a delegation representing around 300 American companies.
The deals span aviation, rail, energy, mining, artificial intelligence, satellite technology, health care, agriculture and finance. GE Aerospace is set to supply engines for Uzbekistan Airways, while Wabtec agreed to supply locomotives and help modernize rail equipment.

BlackRock, Citigroup and Franklin Templeton are involved in financing and access to international capital markets, ReElement Technologies, Traxys and Trafigura in critical minerals, and Amazon's Leo in satellite internet.
Uzbek media noted that the $12 billion figure also includes prospective initiatives and does not mean that amount of investment has already entered the economy. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said bilateral trade had risen 35% since the start of 2026.
