A Swedish YouTuber known as “Swedish Fighterpilot” has praised the MP5 submachine gun made by Türkiye’s Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE), calling the company “a very well-renowned manufacturer of MP5s” in a video filmed at a shooting range.
“Obviously no recoil at all. Very easy to control in semi-auto,” he said while firing the 9 mm weapon, adding that it is “perfect for police, law enforcement, you know, close quarters type battles.” He also said MKE has one of the largest market shares among foreign MP5 makers.

Built under license
MKE produces the MP5 under license from Germany’s Heckler & Koch, using H&K tooling. Semi-automatic versions have been sold in the United States, including as the Zenith Z-5RS imported by Virginia-based Zenith Firearms, which reviewers described as the closest thing to an import-legal MP5 at less than half the cost of Heckler & Koch’s own semi-automatic model. In testing by the NRA’s American Rifleman, the pistol shot groups under 2 inches at 50 yards.
