TAYFUN Block-4, Türkiye’s first hypersonic ballistic missile developed by ROKETSAN, is expected to enter the Turkish Armed Forces’ inventory soon. ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci said in September, at the TEKNOFEST rocket competition event in Aksaray, that the missile would “very soon” enter service.

TAYFUN Block-4 was unveiled at the IDEF 2025 defense fair in Istanbul in July 2025. According to Anadolu Agency, the 10-meter, 7,200-kilogram missile carries a multipurpose warhead designed to destroy strategic targets such as air defense systems, command and control centers, military hangars and critical military facilities.

Open sources estimate the missile’s range at more than 1,000 kilometers. With TAYFUN Block-4 entering service, Türkiye will join the few NATO members with hypersonic ballistic missile capability.

At its unveiling at IDEF 2025, İkinci described the missile as “a very important product showing the point our country has reached in ballistic missile technology.”
