Speaking at a business breakfast held ahead of the VII Russia-China Entrepreneurs Forum, scheduled to open in Moscow on September 10, Boris Titov, co-chair of the Russia-China Friendship, Peace and Development Committee, said the visa regime between the two countries would be a thing of the past after 2027.
Visa-free arrangement valid until December 31, 2027
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on July 20 extending Chinese citizens’ right to enter Russia without a visa until December 31, 2027. China also extended its visa-free regime for Russian citizens through the end of 2027.
Titov said tourist flows had increased at an unprecedented pace after the visa-free arrangement began. He said this increase was the main factor behind the improvement in relations between Russia and China.
