U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will leave her post at the end of August. Leavitt made the decision because she wants to spend more time with her family.
Trump described Leavitt as “great” and one of his most trusted advisers. He said he fully understood and respected her decision.
After leaving her post, Leavitt will continue advising Trump during the congressional midterm elections. She will also continue her activities within the Republican Party.
Leavitt, 28, has served as White House press secretary since the beginning of Trump’s second presidential term. She became one of the youngest people to hold the position.
