The plan to provide faster access to Truth Social posts for a fee has been taken to court in a lawsuit filed in New York. Intercept Media and the nonprofit Freedom of the Press Foundation have asked the court to halt Trump Media & Technology Group’s plan.
The plaintiffs described the initiative as “extraordinary, corrupt and unconstitutional.” The lawsuit was filed after the company announced its plan to offer faster access to Truth Social posts.
Truth API planned to cost up to $100,000 a month
Trump’s posts are considered market-sensitive, while the company calls the service providing faster access to the content Truth API. The service is planned to cost between $60,000 and $100,000 a month.
The plan has drawn criticism not only from Democrats but also from some free-market advocates on Wall Street. Trump is the largest shareholder in Trump Media & Technology Group.
Trump’s shares, valued at approximately $1 billion, are held in a foundation managed by his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.
