As the trade dispute between Canada and the United States continued, U.S. President Trump targeted Canadian Prime Minister Carney and his country’s economic policies.
In a statement on his social media account, Trump argued that Canada’s economy could collapse. Trump claimed that Canadian leaders who declared him an “enemy” had made a “very bad” political choice and said that this approach would cause harm.
Canadian Prime Minister Carney, meanwhile, said tariff negotiations with the United States had continued “until they ultimately stalled.” Carney left the door open to restarting the talks.
