President Donald Trump renewed his public backing for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Tuesday's Knesset election, urging Israelis to keep him in office.
"When you go to the Polls please remember that Bibi has been an outstanding Warrior Prime Minister!" Trump wrote. "Vote for Bibi Netanyahu for Prime Minister, we have to finish the job that we started!"

The message followed Trump's Oct. 18 endorsement, in which he called Netanyahu a "Great Warrior Prime Minister" and warned that if Israel picked "the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves," referring to the confrontation with Iran. Netanyahu welcomed that endorsement and pledged to "complete the mission" together.
The vote is Israel's first general election since the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack. Polls point to a tight race between Netanyahu's Likud and the opposition, with former military chief Gadi Eisenkot as his main challenger. At a rally in Tel Aviv, Eisenkot said he respects the U.S. president but that Israelis alone should choose their leader.
