Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson alleged on Sunday that the Trump administration, under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, "may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran." He said the target would be Pickaxe Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims Tehran has restarted uranium enrichment.
Carlson argued that no conventional weapon in the U.S. arsenal can penetrate the roughly 300 feet of granite above the tunnels, leaving a nuclear strike as "the only military option." Citing an unnamed "informed observer," he wrote: "Bibi calls Trump about it every day."
According to Carlson, Trump is likely to decide by Nov. 7 whether to use nuclear weapons but is "hesitating" and listening to Vice President JD Vance and envoy Steve Witkoff, who argue a deal with Iran is possible. He claimed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper are pushing to restart major combat operations, and that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe are following Netanyahu's lead.

Carlson tied the pressure to Israeli politics, saying Netanyahu cannot form a 61-seat government after last week's election without Trump's help. He also alleged that Netanyahu flew secretly to Abu Dhabi on Sept. 27 to enlist the United Arab Emirates and was turned down, and that Russia has told at least two governments a U.S. nuclear strike on Iran would free it to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
Carlson did not provide documents to support the claims. His warning came hours after Trump told a campaign rally in Iowa that "at some point we're going to have to give them the hammer," two days before Tuesday's midterm elections.
