Tucker Carlson withdraws support for Republican Party
American conservative commentator Tucker Carlson announced he will not support the Republican Party in the November midterm elections. Carlson accused the party of prioritizing Israel's interests and donors.
American conservative commentator and podcast host Tucker Carlson announced he will withdraw his support for the Republican Party in the upcoming Congressional midterm elections in November.
In a speech on his "Can't Be Censored" program, Carlson said he had been a consistent supporter of the Republican Party for 35 years but they no longer had a defensible position. "That's it for me. There are probably many people who think like me," he said.
The commentator claimed the Republican Party shapes its policies and decisions according to Israel's interests and the expectations of party donors, ignoring the interests of voters. He described this situation as "unacceptable and immoral."
Carlson stated he does not support the Democratic Party either, saying, "I don't know what I'm going to do."
Carlson, a former Fox News host, had supported Donald Trump in the 2024 election but later apologized publicly for that support after the start of the US-Israel war with Iran.
Carlson has long criticized the Republican Party for not representing its own voters, US citizens, and the country's general interests. He has repeatedly stated that Washington's foreign policy line is shaped by Israel's interests, not those of the American people.
