Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar reacted to U.S. Vice President J. D. Vance's sharp remarks directed at Israeli cabinet members.
In a post on his social media account, Ben-Gvir responded to Vance's question "What do you propose?" which directly targeted Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who had criticized Trump. Ben-Gvir stated: "My proposal is to deal with the Nazis of the 21st century, just as the U.S. dealt with the Nazis of the 20th century."
Miki Zohar, meanwhile, challenged Vance's claim that Israel's weapons are financed with American taxpayers' money. Zohar argued that intelligence provided to the U.S. has saved the lives of many American citizens.
Zohar highlighted the military and technological cooperation between the two countries, asserting that technologies developed in Israel are primarily used by the U.S. military. "The partnership between Israel and the U.S. is important for the free world," he said.
Vance had previously stated, in remarks addressed to Israeli cabinet members critical of the U.S., that two-thirds of the defensive weapons protecting the homeland over the past three months were produced by American hands and financed with American taxpayers' money.
Vance also sharply criticized Israeli politicians, saying: "Israel's problem is not Donald Trump. Anyone in Israel who thinks their biggest problem is President Trump should wake up and see the reality of their country's situation."
