The Turkish American Steering Committee (TASC) has called on Turkish Americans to make their voices heard on Senate Resolution 384 (SR 384), which was introduced in the Pennsylvania State Senate on Oct. 13.
The resolution, sponsored by Republican state Sen. Cris Dush, was referred to the Senate Rules and Executive Nominations Committee. Its official summary recognizes the cultural, historical and religious significance of Armenia and the contributions of Armenian Americans in Pennsylvania, while its text describes the 1915–1923 events in the Ottoman Empire as a campaign to wipe out the Armenian people.

TASC said it has serious concerns about the resolution's historical framing and its potential impact on Turkish Americans living in Pennsylvania.
Türkiye rejects the characterization of the 1915 events as genocide, describing them as a shared tragedy in which both Turks and Armenians lost their lives, and has long proposed that historians from both sides examine the archives in a joint commission.
