Uncertainty over whether the United States and Iran can reach a lasting agreement in their negotiations pushed oil prices higher again. Brent crude rose above the $100-a-barrel level on Thursday.
Futures for the international benchmark Brent crude rose 2.4% to $100.35 as of 08:30 GMT, recovering from earlier losses during the day.
West Texas Intermediate crude also rose 2.45% to $92.62 a barrel.

Washington's response reaches Tehran
Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said Wednesday that Tehran had received Washington's response to a new proposal delivered through Qatari mediation.
The conditions announced by Tehran include ending hostilities on all fronts and halting the fighting in Lebanon. Iran is also seeking the lifting of the US naval blockade and the release of its assets.
While oil investors are monitoring signs that crude shipments from the region could improve, they are also weighing concerns that the recovery could falter if a lasting agreement to end the war with Iran cannot be reached.

The Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil shipments, remains central to the outlook for regional energy flows as well as the negotiations.
OPEC+ leaves production targets unchanged
Alongside diplomatic developments, supply policy continued to influence the oil market. Seven producers in the OPEC+ group decided to keep their October production targets at September levels.
