US Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that the suspect in the armed attack near a FIFA World Cup event held last weekend in Kansas City, Missouri, may have died.
In an interview with Fox & Friends, Blanche said the 22-year-old suspect, Oscar Sanchez-Munoz, was tracked to a house and his status is under investigation.
Suspect wanted in multiple states
The FBI's Kansas City field office had announced last weekend that a $25,000 reward would be offered for information leading to the capture of Sanchez-Munoz. The suspect was described as "armed and dangerous."
A multi-agency search operation was launched based on allegations that the suspect fired at multiple vehicles traveling on Interstate 70. One person was killed and several others were injured in these attacks.
Police await confirmation
A spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department told Fox News they had not received any information indicating the suspect had been found dead.
Acting Attorney General Blanche noted that more information on the matter is expected to be released on Monday.
