The price of diesel in the United States rose to $6.05 per gallon, with the increase attributed to volatility in global oil markets and refinery costs.
According to data from the American Automobile Association, the nationwide diesel price reached $6.05 per gallon as of today.
Global oil prices rose by approximately 9 percent on a weekly basis amid mounting tensions in the Middle East. As of 1:08 p.m., the November futures price of Brent crude was trading at $104 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate crude was trading at $99.25 per barrel.
Diesel prices rise by $2.30 since February 28
The price of diesel, which stood at $3.75 per gallon on February 28, when the attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran began, rose to $6.05 per gallon today. The price therefore increased by $2.30 during this period.
The rise in oil prices affected diesel prices by driving up refinery costs and the prices of finished products in the United States.
