The visit to Moscow by US President's special representative Steve Witkoff and former president Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner could clear up uncertainties about Washington's Ukraine policy. A diplomatic source said the visit will clarify the White House's position.
The source said, "There are currently reports in the media that Trump wants to review the US position and provide more active assistance to Ukraine. All of this will be among the topics to be discussed by the visitors to Moscow."
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov said on Sunday that Witkoff and Kushner will continue their mediation efforts on Ukraine and are ready to come to Moscow at a convenient time. The duo had previously visited Moscow in January 2026 and December 2025, meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Witkoff had also visited Moscow multiple times throughout 2025.
