Democratic Senator from Georgia Jon Ossoff announced that he will not enter the 2028 presidential race and will run for reelection to the Senate.
Ossoff made the announcement during a debate with his Republican opponent, Representative Mike Collins. When the moderator asked him to pledge that he would serve his full term if reelected, Ossoff said he would complete his six-year term.
Ossoff, whose name has been mentioned among the Democratic Party's potential presidential candidates in 2028, said he had no interest in running for president.
The Senate race in Georgia
The debate between the two candidates was the final event before the midterm elections on November 3. The race in Georgia is significant for determining which party will retain control of the Senate.

The debate was held on the day early voting began in Georgia. Ossoff also cast his ballot in Atlanta on Tuesday.
