US Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance announced the joyful addition of a new member to their family. The couple said their fourth child, Alec Neel Vance, was born on Sunday morning and that both mother and baby are in good health.
In an Instagram post after the birth, the Vance family said the other children welcomed their new sibling with great joy. The couple also thanked the military doctors and staff at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit.
The Vance Family Grows
JD and Usha Vance met at Yale Law School and married in 2014. The couple have three other children: Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel. The Vances announced they were expecting their fourth child in January, saying at the time that they anticipated the birth would take place toward the end of July.
JD Vance has previously said that his wife Usha, though not a Christian, helped keep the family church going. The Vance children drew attention at last year's inauguration ceremony at the US Congress and at events in the capital.
