Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy met with King Charles III at Windsor Castle on June 8, 2026, during his visit to the United Kingdom. The visit coincided with Kyiv's renewed diplomatic efforts to end Russia's war.
The meeting followed Zelenskiy's discussions in London the previous day with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. During the same program, the future of peace negotiations was also discussed within the E3 format, which includes leaders from the UK, France, and Germany.
Since the start of Russia's large-scale invasion, King Charles has been one of Ukraine's strongest supporters in the West. It is noted that the King previously raised the issue of Ukraine with former US President Donald Trump.
After the meeting, Zelenskiy thanked King Charles and the British people for their support. He said he had a good discussion with the King as always and expressed his appreciation for the United Kingdom's support for the Ukrainian people.
The United Kingdom is among Ukraine's closest allies. It is also a key member of the Coalition of Volunteers, which includes more than 30 countries and aims to provide long-term security guarantees to Ukraine.
