In Southern California, a methyl methacrylate tank with a capacity of approximately 6,000 to 7,000 gallons at a plastic parts manufacturing facility began to overheat and release vapor. Orange County Fire Officials warned that the tank could crack, causing the chemical to spill on the ground or potentially explode. As a result, about 40,000 people were evacuated from Garden Grove city and five other surrounding cities. No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident. Authorities are trying to control the tank's temperature to extend the intervention time. It is stated that the chemical vapor can cause respiratory problems, itching and burning in the eyes, nausea, and headaches. GKN Aerospace announced that expert teams are working to assess the situation. Although the evacuated area is close to Disneyland theme parks, these areas were not included in the evacuation zone.
