Carolyn Crayton Park in Macon, Georgia, was the scene of a shooting during a birthday celebration at around midnight. Eleven young people were injured in the shooting.
The injured include four 18-year-old males, two 18-year-old females and five 17-year-old males. An 18-year-old male and a 17-year-old male are in critical condition, while the other nine people are stable.
Dispute between groups turned into a shooting
Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said the birthday event had initially been planned at another location before the attendees moved to Carolyn Crayton Park. According to Davis, an argument broke out between the attendees and another group that later arrived at the park, and the dispute escalated into a shooting.
All 11 people injured in the shooting had attended the birthday celebration. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation because of the number of people involved. Davis said the evidence gathered so far indicates that the incident was local in nature.
