Turkish defense electronics company ASELSAN signed a total of $14 billion in new contracts in the first nine months of 2026, the highest level in its history, raising its backlog of orders to $30.7 billion.
It is the first time the company's backlog has exceeded $30 billion. New export contracts rose 34% year on year to $1.9 billion, and the ratio of new orders to sales climbed to 4.4, meaning incoming business far outpaced current sales.
ASELSAN's revenue grew 28% in real terms to 151.5 billion Turkish lira in the same period, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 38% to 40.6 billion lira.
Investment in capacity and high technology jumped 228% to $684 million, and research and development spending rose 36% to about $1.3 billion. To meet its growing order book, the company brought the first phase of its Oğulbey Technology Base into operation and opened a Guided Munitions Systems Production Center.
