Bay Area Turks to celebrate Republic Day in Palo Alto on Oct. 25
ETAC, the Bay Area’s Turkish community organization, will mark the 103rd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye with a celebration at the Lucie Stern Community Center in Palo Alto on Oct. 25. Advance registration is required.
Empowering The Turkish American Community (ETAC), the Turkish community group behind the Bay Area Turkish House, will hold a Republic Day celebration on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Lucie Stern Community Center in Palo Alto, California.
The event marks the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye on Oct. 29, 1923.
Turkish lunch and marbling workshop
Tickets include a Turkish lunch, tea and coffee, children’s activities, networking and a hands-on ebru, or traditional Turkish marbling, workshop. According to the organizers, Honorary Deputy Consul General Ali Cıkla will attend, and a special proclamation ceremony presented by the City of Berkeley is planned.
The organizers said there will be no registration at the door, so participants must sign up in advance.
