Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir opposed limiting Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip to people posing an immediate threat and called for Israel to carry out extensive airstrikes across the entire territory.
Speaking on the podcast "October 8," hosted by Rom Braslavski, Ben-Gvir advocated killing 30–40 Palestinians every night.
"Some people do not deserve to live"
Ben-Gvir said Palestinians who were not involved in the fighting should not be exempt from Israeli attacks, and stated that some people "do not deserve to live" and "should not even be considered human."
Ben-Gvir called a woman who was said to have given food to Braslavski while he was being held captive in Gaza a "terrorist" and said she should be shot and killed.
Israeli soldier Braslavski was captured by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and released on October 13, 2025, as part of a prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas.
Call to settle the entire Gaza Strip
Renewing his call for Israelis to resettle in Gaza, Ben-Gvir said he viewed the entire territory as belonging to Israel. He said the settlements should not be limited to the former Gush Katif settlement bloc, which Israel evacuated in 2005.
The Israeli minister called for settlements to be expanded across the entire Gaza Strip and for Palestinians in the territory to voluntarily leave the homes inherited from their ancestors. Ben-Gvir called for the greatest possible level of emigration to be encouraged.
Palestinian detainees and human rights organizations
Ben-Gvir said he was pleased that Palestinians in Israeli prisons were being held under harsh conditions. Palestinian and Israeli human rights organizations say that approximately 9,500 Palestinians, including women and children, are being held in Israeli prisons.
Ben-Gvir also called for Israeli rights organizations such as Peace Now and Standing Together, which advocate coexistence between Palestinians and Israelis, to be banned. He accused these organizations of "supporting terrorism."
